What a fantastic lunch! We sat inside in a comfortable and spacious booth and enjoyed the refreshing Hopmonk Tavern Ale. The stone fruit salad was so delicious and had generous amounts of grilled stone fruit, which I have never seen before. The taco 4-pack was so fresh and flavorful. Our waitress was wonderful and was always there to check on us. Definitely recommend!

Came for the music and was delightfully impressed. The Cookout Concert Series during the summer is a huge get for the Marin County music scene. HopMonk staff and organizers were kind and congenial while the outdoor stage under the oak trees created a blissful ambiance. The North Bay is lucky to have this series from KC Turner Presents.

I've always enjoyed Hopmonk - especially great for large groups and menu is varied enough to please your vegan and hamburger loving friends. Now I'm giving them extra stars for their DOG Menu!!! I got the 8 oz patty and it was enough for two dogs that gobbled it up!

Very good brew pub and restaurant. I stop by randomly and didn't know what to expect. Service and food was great! Inside has a nice bar area to watch sports. We tried the Cuban sandwich and the kale salad with chicken everything was delicious. I couldn't try the beers today but next time I will.

Our first time at Hopmonk Novato, came to see one of our favorite performers, Ron Artis ll. This was an outdoor early evening concert what Hopmonk calls their BBQ series. We had an early dinner before the show so this revue is for the venue only. The outside area of Hopmonk is a clever setup. There are numerous picnic tables and benches where you can sit with neighboring attendees. All the tables are in the shade with good views of the stage. There are also a few tables for four if you want to go that route. Finally there is a small hillside where you can bring low back chairs, sit on a blanket or sit at a few high top tables and enjoy the show. There were a couple of bars set up with a good variety of beer and wine to pick from. Very well thought out venue and we would certainly return to see another show. Ron Artis ll was fantastic as always! Opening for Ron was his brother Thunderstorm Artis, a finalist of The Voice. They also played together for a few songs. I can highly recommend Hopmonk Tavern Novato for their concert venue!

Hopmunk is one of the best places to go to in Novato. They've always got fun events going on - concerts, trivia nights, country line dancing. I came here on a Thursday night for country line dancing with dance instructors Chris and Megan. Entry fee is $12 and it runs from 6pm-10pm. They will teach a few line dancing lessons throughout the night and then play songs for people to line dance to. They also take song requests. Hopmunk has a back room that is separate from the restaurant for dancing which includes a full bar and food service as well. The food is always yummy. Our table ordered the warm pretzel served with beer cheese, samosas, and the hopmunk cheeseburger. The cheeseburger was unique with its tomato chutney and aioli. Everything was delicious! They've got all sorts of beers, ciders, wines, and cocktails. We ordered the Golden State Cider Mighty Dry to drink. Cheers!

I've only been twice, but HopMonk has my vote for best Restaurant/Music Venue in the greater Bay Area. A special shout out to the Director - Bill DeCarli for being so accommodating and just super nice. The restaurant offers a creative selection of entries including fish tacos, Chili Verde - my favorite, burgers, fresh salads and fun starters to share. KCTurner Presents offers a eclectic mix of music shows in the outside patio venue in Novato during the spring and summer that one should not miss. Earlier in the year I saw Alejandro Escovedo who rocked the place. Last night was a special evening with one of my favorites - James McMurtry. HopMonk is only 30 or so minutes from Oakland, so if you are looking for great food and an intimate musical experience, Matt says check out HopMonk Novato
